Contact Person of Trust (CPoT)
Function Description – Contact Person of Trust (CPoT)
The contact person of trust (CPoT) is an external person operating independently from the board. Individuals involved with UUMUN – both internally and externally – can turn to this person in cases of unwanted behaviour such as but not limited to, sexual intimidation,
discrimination, bullying, aggression, intimidation, violence, and a violation of the foundation’s integrity. Next to that, members of the organisation are advised by the CPoT when it comes to preventing and stopping these types of behaviour.
In the case an individual alarms the CPoT, the concerned people can be heard with the aim of obtaining information on the situation. Involved people could consist of delegates, alumni, representatives of external parties and participants of UUMUN events. The board could be advised to take measures based on the assessment by the CPoT. Next to that, the CPoT can refer individuals to experts to be further helped and supported to alleviate their situation. The obtained personal information, but also the content and process of the talks, by the CPoT is strictly confidential for third parties, board members and delegates – except when explicit permission is granted by the person reporting.
The CPoT will act independently of the board to ensure confidentiality and to solve (structural) issues. To ensure that the CPoT could implement solutions to structural issues, they are assigned for 2 consecutive years. The CPoT has got the freedom to decide upon their own practices, by taking the ‘code of behaviour’ into account and by always serving the interest of the person reporting; never by serving self-interest or that of the foundation.
