The Teams of UUMUN
Every UUMUN delegation has 17 delegates, who are divided over three teams. Of the five board members, three board members are Heads of these teams. The teams Corporate Relations (CR), Content (C) and Public Affairs (PA) have besides from participating in the trainings of UUMUN, an important task in the realisation of the UUMUN activities. Every team has their own task and together, we make it possible to go to Harvard and Oxford! Below you can find more information about the teams of UUMUN and their tasks!
Team Corporate Relations
Team Corporate Relations consists of four delegates and is headed by Head Corporate Relations. This year, Christoph will lead a team consisting of four students: Thomas, Malka, Gabe and Florent. Team CR is responsible for making contact with new, potential partners, as well as maintaining contact with current partners. From the start of May 2023, Team CR has brainstormed about possible partnerships that allow for new, and interesting perspectives, as well as be an asset to the personal development of UUMUN delegates and other UU students. In accordance with UUMUN’s policy of valuing sustainability, this year CR will once again host a number of interesting events under the umbrella of ‘Road to Sustainability. Next to this, Team CR tries to improve both the delegations’ and other UU students’ soft skills, focusing especially on those needed when interested in a future career in diplomacy. During the ‘Race to Diplomacy’, students with aspirations of becoming a lawyer, consultant or diplomat will develop their soft skills by visiting large firms specialized in those. At the end of a period of personal development, the students compete against each other in a mini-MUN organized at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Team CR cooperates with a wide variety of firms, thus providing students with a large and realistic array of potential employers. All firms are internationally engaged and contribute to societal improvement. Interested in setting up a partnership with UUMUN? Reach out to us by sending an email to partners@uumun.nl.

These diverse tasks are done by a group of motivated students, being Jade, Johan, Okan, Camila and Stefanie as Head PA. Team PA will host multiple events this year that are open to everyone: UUMUN Talks in November and the UUMUN Academy in March. As part of making progress within the delegation, tea, PA also tries to share the experiences and know-how with others. In our UUMUN Talks, event experts from the field will shed light on important IR topics in relation to China with the goal of having intriguing discussions and gaining more knowledge. Through our UUMUN Academy, we engage students in public speaking and lobbying. Furthermore, we provide Masterclasses to high schools and other groups interested in improving their public speaking, lobbying or negotiation skills. Most importantly, PA maintains UUMUN’s close ties with the University through the deans, study associations and educational staff. Over the years UUMUN has assisted the University with courses and training for academic students. Team Public Affairs proves that these differing responsibilities and projects are surmounted through keen diligence and amicable teamwork.
